Counting Calories DOES help you

I don't care what people say, counting calories is extremely important! You need to know exactly what's going into your body day-to-day and if you have the right tools it's easy. Everyone is different, and you might need to work out exactly what works for you. This is when you will rely on your exercise and calorie/food logs.

Once you get used to your diet and know wat calories in foods you can back off from using a log, but until then, keep counting those calories!

Never skip breakfast - or any meal!

Never skip breakfast, or any meal! If you want to maximize your fitness or fat-loss efforts you've got to eat breakfast! So many people skip breakfast, and it's the worst thing you could ever do when it comes to fat-loss. Skipping meals throws your blood sugar all out of whack and it sets you up to store your next meal as fat, almost guaranteed!

Eat smaller meals, more often

The days of 3 large meals per day are gone. If you want to lose weight, increase your metabolism and keep the weight off you need to start eating smaller meals more often. When you eat, you metabolism kicks into action and starts working. The more times you eat, the harder your metabolism works. Eating 5+ smaller meals per day will help increase your metabolism. Also, when you eat a lot of calories at one time it is too much energy for your body to use. So guess where the extra energy goes that your body doesn't use? It gets stored as fat.

Focus on being healthy, not being thin.

Many people become more successful at long term weight loss when their motivation changes from wanting to be thinner to wanting to be healthier. Change your mindset to think about selecting foods that will help your body's health rather than worrying about foods that will affect your body's weight.
