Lose Weight Without The Gym!

Whether it may be a time or financial constraint or you simply don’t live near one, if you’re like many people going to the gym every day is just not possible. It always seems to be harder and harder to cut a couple of hours out of our busy days in order to drive to a gym or fitness club, wait in line for the machine you want to use, and drive back home. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just burn calories safely and effectively without all that hassle, time, and expense? Well, there is. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

One of the fastest and most effective ways to get your heart rate up and burning calories is to just lift your feet and start running. Running is still one of the most conducive cardiovascular exercises that you can participate in and costs nothing more than a little time and the price of a decent pair of running shoes.

Jumping Rope:

If you’ve got about three square feet and a jump rope, you can participate in one of the best calorie-burning exercises known to man. Don’t knock jumping rope as a kid’s hobby; boxers regularly jump rope to increase their stamina and endurance as well as their poise and grace.

The great thing about dancing is that you can be exercising even when you’re out on the town. Dancing is a very effective calorie burning exercise, but be careful when you’re out in night clubs to avoid voiding any benefit with calorie-filled cocktails.

Stationary bikes are a great way to burn those calories while you relax indoors in a controlled climate. When it’s too hot, cold, rainy, whatever to go outside, turn on the television or the radio and take a trip with your stationary cycle. Just be sure that the stationary bike isn’t your only form of exercise, however, as it only focuses resistance on the lower part of your body. To maintain a healthy lifestyle, you must be sure to concentrate on all areas, not just one.

Though places to swim may be harder to come across for many than a health club or a gym, for those that live near swimmer-friendly lakes, ponds, rivers, oceans, or public pools, swimming is a full-body workout that forces you to utilize every segment of your body in a calorie-burning motion that is less harmful to your joints and muscles than running or jumping rope, not to mention more effective.
