10 Reasons Why You Should Exercise

Exercising really has no downside. I’ve been racking my brain trying to think of one and I honesty can’t. So I thought I’d post up 10 good reasons why everyone SHOULD be doing some sort of regular exercise. There are plenty more…feel free to leave them in the comments.

10 Reasons Why You SHOULD Exercise

  1. You’ll live longer. Less chance of heart attack, stroke, asthma, muscle conditions, breathing disorders…the list goes on. Even a small amount of regular exercise can have a huge impact on your health.
  2. You will look better. You make want to lose some fat, tone up or gain some muscle. Exercise will do that for you. It’s not going to happen without it!
  3. You will feel better. Exercise may be hard while you’re doing it, but the feeling when you finish that hard bike ride, aerobics class or workout is a natural high. You will also feel more positive and may have an increased self esteem.
  4. Protect yourself against injuries. Regular exercise will strengthen your joints, muscles and ligaments.
  5. You will sleep better. Exercise helps the body burn energy which will leave you feeling tired and sleepy at night. And you are more likely to stay in a deep sleep when your body is recovering from exercise.
  6. Exercise can relive stress. Going for a run or swim after a hard days work can be a huge stress relief.
  7. Improve the strength of your immune system.
  8. Lower your resting heart rate. Fitter people have a slower resting heart beat. This means that their heart does not have to work as hard while they’re resting to pump blood throughout the body. The less the heart has to work, the longer it lasts!
  9. Improve your appeal to the opposite sex. This may sound shallow, but everyone wants to look attractive to the opposite sex. Exercise will not only improve your body but will make you more positive and thus making you more attractive.
  10. Exercise will help to increase your basal metabolic rate (the calories you burn when you’re resting). This means your body will burn more calories when you’re resting and their will be much less chance that you will gain weight.
